Responsibilities
  • Manage global and/or regional commodity
  • Identify and engage with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, quality) to capture commodity requirements and ensure supplier qualification and quality - partner with regional PPM teams to efficiently transition suppliers as needed
  • Responsible for developing & executing detailed commodity strategy:
  • Assess Opportunity for commodity including spend segmentation, commodity maturity, cost drivers, and supply market analysis
  • Develop Sourcing Strategy for commodity detailing projects, sourcing levers, timing, resources, and expected benefits
  • Accountable for execution of sourcing projects including RFx, continuous improvement, consolidation, etc.
  • Responsible for defining negotiations strategy including supplier profiles, commercial negotiations targets, defining switching costs, and building Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
  • Conduct or support negotiations and supplier selection - accountable for contract lifeclycle management and compliance
  • Responsible for delivering commodity productivity through price, value analysis (VA) or continuous improvement projects - responsible for supporting regional/sector countermeasures
  • Support supplier segmentation, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and quarterly supplier reviews for all strategic suppliers within commodity. Scribe for all quarterly reviews and key supplier meetings. Ensure creation of supplier profiles for all SRM suppliers.
  • Responsible for commodity continuity of supply - engage with plants to efficiently resolve escalated issues and formally manage and secure supplier capacity
  • Support region/sector NPD Procurement teams through preferred supplier programs, RFQ's, and SRM to set and meet program QCD targets
  • Actively monitor and mitigate supplier risk including financial, capacity, quality, and compliance
  • Responsible for forecasting, reporting, mitigating, and recovery of commodity inflation
  • Support Quarterly Commodity Reviews (QCR) including updated projects, metrics, strategy, and countermeasures
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or related field
  • 2 to 6 years procurement sourcing experience, consulting, buyer, and/or analyst experience
  • Demonstrate competence in negotiating skills and assessing vendors.
  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience coordinating, facilitating discussions, consultation and conflict resolution skills
  • Professional communication; both verbal and written are required.
  • Ability to travel

Project Engineer ECI, Inc - Pasadena, TX, US

ECI Engineers and Constructors International, Inc. (ECI) is a multi-disciplined consulting firm with over 35 years experience in refining, chemical plant engineering, & design located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. ECI provides project support for projects of varying sizes, ranging from conceptual process design through detailed engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services, ranging from small maintenance / revamp projects to new grass-roots plant projects. ECI also has a professional services division which provides plant personnel staffing to support engineering, operations, and maintenance departments.
ECI, Inc is seeking a contract Project Engineer with a minimum of 5 years experience in the chemical/petro-chemical industry.This is a dual role position to function primarily as a project engineer with overlapping mechanical engineering responsibilities. The position is located in Pasadena, Texas.
The duration of the work is expected to be approximately 9 months to 1 year and will begin in August 2015.
Project / Mechanical Engineering Responsibilities:
  • Project Engineering Responsibilities
    • As a project engineer, efforts will include coordinating between internal client resources and external engineering contractors who will be executing detail design. This will also include the following efforts:
    • Coordinating and leading project team in planning, developing, and implementing the project scope of work; including meetings, setting priorities, evaluating comments/requests and ensuring internal customer approval
    • Ensuring the proper balance between cost, schedule, quality, and safety of the finished project.
    • Alignment of project execution schedules from engineering through construction to assure a prioritized approach for fast track execution.
    • Review of technical specifications, design documents and vendor documentation and coordination of internal resources for evaluations and return of comments.
    • Supporting efforts to the project manager to report project status on cost and schedule.
    • Preparing or coordinating the preparation of construction bid packages, evaluating bid proposals and selection of contractors
    • Experience with SAP Project Module and other basic SAP transactions desirable
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent people skills. Ability to successfully work with all plant personnel
    • In-depth knowledge of Excel, Word, Microsoft Project.
    • Mechanical Design Responsibilities
      Construction package design, including equipment location plans, plot plans, piping design and equipment design
      Ensure engineering designs comply with best practice standards and codes, current and future legislative requirements and client guidelines.
      Analyze existing and proposed equipment for applicability of the selected equipment in the intended application.
      Be aware and knowledgeable of ASME and other applicable codes, piping stress design, equipment layout, structural and machine design improvements
      Experience with the corrosive nature of a chemical plant environment, and evaluate design solutions developed for the project.
      Familiar with exotic material of construction, such as titanium, tantalum, glass-lined equipment, thermoplastics and FRP.
      Previous working experience with industrial scale systems including metal pipe fabrication, automated valves, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, agitators, relief systems, centrifugal pumps, vacuum pumps, mechanical seals, refrigeration machines, etc.
      Preparing or coordinating the preparation of construction bid packages, evaluating bid proposals and selection of contractors.

      Skills Required:

As a member of the Sales Management team, the Regional Sales Manager, Heat Exchangers, will identify and capture customers to profitably grow the business within the Heat Exchanger market.  The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for presenting, promoting and achieving maximum sales revenue and margins of the Division's Heat Exchanger product solutions to end-users and distribution globally.

Responsibilities

  • Increase Sales of AMETEK Fluoropolymer Heat Exchanger products through direct sales and recruitment, training, motivation and management of competent sales representative and distributor organization.
  • Perform market research and analysis of opportunities for growth, involving product line extensions and entry into new markets.
  • Provide technical solutions and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Call on and develop new business at large end user and distributor accounts.
  • Work with internal personnel to expedite quotations, drawings and shipments.
